Teaching Scripture More Effectively Using A Bible Timeline Chart

In our Sunday Bible group some years ago, somebody, who had been a Christian and been involved in the Church for many years, made this statement,"Yes, but Abraham had the Law and so he understood about......" (they were not talking about the pre-mosaic law) I wonder just how many Christians will actually pick up the error in this statement. Moses existed five hundred years after Abraham and so it is not possible. I have since then compiled a Biblical chronological chart and explained visually the dating of individuals and events.

Why do we dwell on our favorite topics and feel good discourses?
We teach on a verse from Hebrews and a passage about James and John and a topical from the book of Haggai and then the faith of Solomon or the strength of Samson - parts from here and everywhere, but we do not put it all at once in a plain understandable, simple to remember, perspective with a decent Bible TimeLine including Church History as well. Constantly we're bombarded with new books, modernist ideas, a few of them dangerously leaning toward Progressive theology, when if we were to be coached the basic principles of Church history, we then wouldn't be so bound to do the same again.
Let's us as tutors and preachers sew together the aspects of God's Word and God's plan into a complete picture that our people are able to draw on for the rest of their lives, to help them to comprehend God, His Eternal Plan, the function of the Church and how to better interpret the Bible to model our lives by.
It is not hard to do, and it is not boring if we're ready to put in a bit of effort prayer and fervor, and just perhaps you can utilize a Bible Timeline as well.
